I’m sure there were Pokeymans-specific jokes. (I just love saying pokeymans. You can tell.) The only one I vaguely caught was that Pikachu is an electric-type, hence the Electric-type candle light. Anything else, such as the reason these two pokemon were playing the two particular roles they were playing, was beyond me.
Or, for that matter, why something clearly reptilian has stubble.
Because I only played Red and Blue, I basically have come into this blind, which is interesting. I am left with the impression of a fine bit of art, the emotions and actions nicely drawn, evocative of the feelings and attitudes of the lead characters.
