Katsucon LogoWhat? More conventions ALREADY??

Yes we’ll be back on the road this weekend (and driving thru mountains of snow) to hang out at Katsucon 16 in Washington D.C.!

Alyssa and I will be stationed in the dealers room, conveniently located next to our friends Jen and Brion (of Mystic Revolution and Flipside respectively), so if you feel like  fighting the weather you should stop by! Alyssa will have a massive pile of her video game bead magnets for sale, and I will be trying out two brand new shirts that are not yet available online! Exciting! See you there!

HALOLZ MAGFEST 8 ROUND-UP!

Well it’s been a while since I did any kind of write-up after a show, but you know what? MAGFest was a great show! Despite the fact that I had to man the Halolz booth most of the time, here are some of the highlights of my crazy four day weekend.

This New Year’s… your mind… BLOWN.

MAGFest 2010

This weekend spend your New Year’s at MAGFest, the video game music festival featuring bands, games and so much more! Also featuring… me! I’ll be there hanging out, promoting Halolz and selling some of the fine wares of Ninja-Bot!

But what’s that, you live in Texas and can’t make it to MAGFest? Well why not check out Ikkicon instead? My good friend (and Star Wolf t-shirt artist) Matt Herms will be there with a selection of Ninja-Bot shirts! Be sure to stop by his guest table and check out his stuff!

LOVE+Hmm, haven’t really done a general blog post in a while… but I’ve got a few things to mention so lets just cram them all in at once, shall we?

First my apologies for the updates being a little sparatic the last couple of days, we all came down with the flu last Thursday and it has not been pleasant (keep in mind I have a two year old daughter). Hmm, I wonder if I’m being punished for something? Nahhhhhh…

Next I wanted to mention that I will officially be at MAGFest this Jan 1st-4th in Virginia. MAGFest is unlike a lot of the shows I normally do, in that it’s primary focus is video game music… which should be pretty awesome! I’ve wanted to make it out to this show for a few years now but it always lands on my birthday so it’s been difficult to work it into my schedule… but this year I’m just going to suck it up, ditch my loving family, and spend my birthday at a video game festival! I’m such a good person! >__>

Speaking of the vidjeo games… I wanted to throw out a quick plug for a game I started playing recently called LOVE, which also happens to be made by my friend (and semi-regular Halolz submitter) Trunks. It’s a fairly simple old skool platformer with a neat respawning twist and a kick-ass soundtrack, and most importantly… it’s absolutely free! Pick it up if you have a sec!

And speaking of my friends, I wanted to mention that our friends at Yu-Gi-Oh Abridged are up for one of them there fancy internet awards (y’know like real awards except made out of electrons and magic!) If you’re a fan of the series why not give them a vote?

Hmm, what else. Oh the Facebook page thing seems to be going really well, be sure to keep sharing your favorite submissions on there!

Oh and you may have heard that Valve is holding a propaganda contest for the TF2 Soldier/Demo War that’s currently running… so uh, don’t be surprised if you see a lot of these types of poster entries appearing on the site this week!

I think that’s about it! See ya’ Monday!

Back from Anime USA! Sorry for the sparce amount of posting on Mon & Tue, but after a long trip back from Virgina I …accidentally slept 16 hours. Whoops!

Just wanted to say a quick thanks to all the readers who came out to shows we’ve attended this year. It’s been an exhausting year hitting the gaming/anime convention circuit but it’s probably the biggest thing that keeps the site going!

‘Splosion Man LogoAlso thanks to Garth, Brian, Jim and Nelly for letting me crash at their place! I wish I got to live in a house together with a bunch of my friends!

Also on a totally unrelated note, I wanted to ask a quick favor from all you fans of Twisted Pixels ‘Splosion Man! The game is up for “best independent video game” in this year’s 2009 VGA awards and it would really help them out if you could give them your vote! Assuming of course you enjoyed the game, which I’m sure any of you who played it certainly did! Thanks!

Anime USA LogoOops, almost forgot to mention that we’ll be at Anime USA this weekend in Arlington, Virginia! Looks like my last convention of the year… which honestly is kind of a nice feeling, as I’ve done quite a few shows this year!

But anyway, I will be in the guest area (although I’m not actually a guest, go figure!) which is by the front entrance to the dealers room. If you feel like stopping by to [say hello] / [tell me how cool I am] / [make fun of me for not working on Staccato] I will be there… along with my usual pile of Ninja-Bot miscellany for you to browse through!

Oh and speaking of Ninja-Bot, there should be a new version of the site up later today (for those interested in such things!) May even be some new items there that may interest some of you holiday shoppers! Just sayin’!

Also I mentioned it on the Halolz Twitter already, but a small site upgrade… we’ve added a new Facebook button to posts which makes it super quick and easy to share your favorite submissions with all your friends on Facebook. Also it has a cool little counter which tells you how many people have shared it on there as well (which I really like). Be sure to check it out!

Another video game convention? In Philly?? What’s up with all these gaming conventions in Philly?! I have no idea!

Well anyway I’m going to be at GameX this weekend. I didn’t really want to make a big deal out of it because, well, lets face it… if you live in the Philadelphia area you’ve had like, A MILLION chances to come see us in the last two months. But I guess if you were like, out of town during that whole time and have a hankerin’ for some video games… you should probably swing by GameX and keep me company! We can talk about pumpkins, cider, or anything else seasonal that strikes your fancy! Whee!

VGXPO 2009 LogoHey everyone! We’re heading back to Philly this weekend for another video game show! This one is called VGXPO (Video Games Expo) and it looks like a pretty big event… even Nintendo has a booth there! (Hopefully they won’t notice our new Two Girls, One-Up shirt! >_>)

So if you crazy Pennsylvanians are looking to kill some time
this weekend, be sure to stop by! We’ll have lots of the usual goodies along with a new semi-secret Halolz t-shirt! And Alyssa will be there as well with her bead magnets from RedPepperHead! You can’t lose!
