SONY - We steal while others innovate.

The Playstation Move… another totally original idea from the brilliant minds of Sony! I hear next year they’re coming out with a game where you jump on turtles and save a princess!

  27. Minilandstan on March 11th, 2010 5:26 pm

    Think of it this way
Sony origionally made the Playstation eye before nintendo released the Wii
So technically Sony created motion play.

  28. FrEEz on March 11th, 2010 5:27 pm

Well, the thing is, they had this technology way back in '04-'05, back when the eye toy for the PS2 was released. They had many of these experimental eye-toy videos, which worked very well. Obviously they simply put the project aside, and worked on the PS3. However, when they saw that nintendo had come up with an idea similar to their experiments, they decided to dig it back up and develop it.

Honestly though, it looks like it'll work MUCH better than a wiimote (this 1-1 thing) but in the end, it's just a gimmick.

  29. CakeBard on March 11th, 2010 5:27 pm

What could they possibly steal next? Good online service? Recognizable video game icons? Children's hopes and dreams?

What's funny is that Sony also copied the analog sticks on the Playstation 1 controller after Nintendo made it popular on the N64 controller. Total hack.

  50. shadow649 on March 11th, 2010 9:55 pm

Hmmm They look alot like the 2 consoles I own… Strange time paradox and laws of physics clearly state such an object is impossible because 2 large companies cannot occupy the same space because they simply will destroy each other by copyright infringement. I should buy this and sell the other 2!

  51. shadow649 on March 11th, 2010 9:59 pm

Or they might even steal game franchises! Imagine purple hedgehogs named ultra or weird mutant red squirrels with 3 tails or blue unrecognizable animals some people have never heard of in their life!

  52. Hakokoro on March 11th, 2010 10:00 pm

It also guarantees your sexual pleasure better than the nintendo wii control!

  53. shadow649 on March 11th, 2010 10:02 pm

But anything with a low failure rate is borrring with the exception of the n64 of course. The M16 machine gun is plenty fun compared to the less jamming prone, less breakable, able to put a bayonet on, more or less popular AK-47! So many companies have ripped of the AK-47 and made their own version.

  76. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 2:48 am

Actually, Nintendo made motion sensing technology before Sony ever got in the console business. True fact. Look up the patents.

  77. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 2:49 am

Except Fabrique Nationale. They make things made of pure win. Like the SCAR.

  78. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 2:51 am

It's Failberry flavored. Tastes like Duke Nukem Forever :D

  79. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 2:54 am

Funny thing is, Nintendo could sue Sony over this. And win. Nintendo does own the patents to most motion sensing technologies on the market..

  80. foreverbadass on March 11th, 2010 10:00 pm

Only sony would take a TV remote and stick an anglerfish dohicky on the end of it and call it an innovation to the gaming industry

  81. TCC on March 12th, 2010 6:53 am

… or do space aged dildo's look like the sony controler?

    http://www.halolz.com/2009/07/22/videogame-messag...

  86. Kergeros on March 12th, 2010 7:01 pm

I honestly see nothing wrong with this. I don't see what is so hilarious. The motion sensor has been around for quite a while, and while it was Nintendo who made an entire console based off it, this technology does not belong to Nintendo. It is only logical the other consoles take the same step up towards a more dynamic gaming experience. Or are you saying they can't because Nintendo did first? What a childish thing. By that line of thinking, you could say, then, that Nintendo stole Sony's idea of using discs rather than cartridges. Or say that every game company copied Atari's idea of consoles that ran games on the TV. Please think a bit, before mocking people's efforts.

  87. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 8:20 pm

In all honesty, Sony stole Nintendo's idea for a disc based console. There are a very few number of the original concept consoles that were made, but the console made by both Nintendo and Sony does exist and have games made for them. The design fell through somehow and Sony basically stole the disc part and ran off with it. As for Atari being the first to make a console for exclusively playing games on a television, Ralph Baer Beat Atari to the punch by five years with the Odyssey. That, and Ralph Baer invented video games. All of this information is not false in any way. Look it up if you wish. Just please look up the facts before trying to ridiculing others logic.

  88. Daifuku on March 12th, 2010 8:31 pm

    *que laugh track*

  89. Kergeros on March 12th, 2010 8:38 pm

I accept thoroughly your claim about Atari not being the first videogaming system. I sincerely apologize to my lack of research. And yes, Sony and Nintendo had worked to make a console based on discs. However, Sony already had the technology for discs. They helped Nintendo, and when the final product didn't work out well, they went and created their own console. Which may I say was pretty successful. So my point stands. Someone applying a new feature to videogame consoles does not turn other companies who do the same into thieves.
