Well it took me a while to get them all sorted (also I was busy giving out candy to kids all evening and dressing my daughter up in a bee suit…) but here are the entries we received for the 2008 Pumpkin Carving Contest! Considering the short notice I gave everyone for this first year of doing it, I think the results were awesome! In fact, I thought they were so awesome that I’ve decided that all the entrants will be getting “Honorable Mention” status (which means a prize)! As for the first, second and third place winners… I’ll announce them in the next three posts!

Okay, I know Halloween is right around the corner… but I still wanted to do this contest just to kind of get it rolling!
So what is it all about? Halolz First Annual Haloween Pumpkin Carving Contest is, as it sounds, a jack-o-lantern carving contest! The theme? Anything video game related! Carve something awesome in a pumpkin that has something to do with video games and you can win! Entries will be judged on originality, creativity, and juiciness (not really).
How to enter:
Step 1: Make a rad video game themed jack-o-lantern
Step 2: Carve a small visible “H” somewhere on the pumpkin, or make a sign that says “Halolz.com” to show in the photo (this is to avoid cheating)
Step 3: Take a digital photo (lights on or off or both) and send it to haloween@halolz.com
Step 4: All elegible entries must be recieved by 5pm EST on Oct 31st
