Sorry Trunks, but judging by the state of things, I don't think anyone wants to wait for it.

Quasi related: Is embedded video glitching out for anyone else? The last few videos on Halolz have been doing this, and from what I can gather it seems to only do it on this site.

Joke's on you! My car's more at risk from me than from Ryu!

Is anyone else not saying anything because the joke speaks too much for itself for funny comments to be made?

  7. DeceptiveDRHOBO on February 23rd, 2014 1:42 pm

That Autobot never saw it coming. (Decepticon would never choose that kind of vehicle)

  8. Trunks on February 23rd, 2014 6:39 pm

Often times people say, Why do you run Halolz? Is it the fame? The fortune? The women?

    No. It's comments like these.

I knew what was going to happen just before it did. I've been reading TvTropes too much.

I couldn't understand the language, yet this still makes more sense to me than an insurance commercial featuring rel="nofollow">Sonic the Hedgehog.

    Halolz is choking…again…

Listening to "Falcon Punch" by F-777 while I wait for the Church of the Falcon Forums and Halolz to return.

I've "Waited for it" for nearly a month now. I even made a submission myself. WHERE'S MY UPDATE?

    It's official.

    We're dead

xxxxxxtheundeadcat made us a subreddit! Commenting about it so it's at the top of a thread instead of in the middle.

…SO HOW MUCH LONGER DO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT?

  19. Alpar on April 1st, 2014 8:07 am

Well, since Halolz is dead and it's April Fool's…
    IT'S THAT TIME AGAIN.

It's an important and popular fact that things are not always what they seem.

For instance, on the website Halolz, it was assumed that following the abysmal 2013, family man and T-shirt czar Shawn Handyside, along with and indie developer Fred "Trunks" Wood, would take more action to keep the site updated, instead of letting it *stagnate.* The community itself who, curiously enough, had long tolerated this downtime had come to predict the impending implosion of their beloved site. They had made many attempts to alert the editors to the danger, but most of their communications were misinterpreted as amusing attempts to punch footballs or whistle for titbits… but that was mostly Paulrus, who has kinda lost it these days; most of them just kinda yelled at Trunks through Twitter. So they eventually decided they would leave Halolz for brighter pastures.

The last ever community message was misinterpreted as a surprisingly sophisticated joke where Paulrus chucked Alpar into the air, who performed a double backward somersault through a hoop while whistling the Star Wolf theme song, but in fact the message was this:

"So long and thanks for all the lulz."

[Sitting in a rocking chair, whittling]

We don't much visitors 'round here no more. Not since the droughts. This here used to be a prosperous land watched over by the mighty falcon. Laughter was all you would hear as all the folk talked and talked, each word sharpening the others wit. It was simple times but boy do I miss it.

Now all you hear is silence. Desolation as far as the eye can see. The land so forsaken that even the ravenous wolf wouldn't roam the sands. The lovely folk all but gone save a small handful of the more stubborn ones but they too have their doubts. Sometimes I look off into the horizon and wonder how all my ol' pals are doing and if I should have followed. Today may not be that day but I fear if things get much worse, that time may come.

You know, Halolz was a site that meant something to all of us. It may not have been the most popular, or the most timely, or the most quality controlled (still salty about Lesbian Mudkips), but there was a certain magic to coming to the site each day to be greeted by something that at least tried to make you laugh. Sure, Halolz didn't play a role in creating most of that content, but it really didn't need to. What Halolz provided in my eyes was a catalyst for witty discussions about video game related humor that honestly sometimes became more worthwhile than the humor itself. Even when I wasn't commenting, trying to get that coveted 69 e-peen to join the fabled Top Hat and Monocle club, just reading the jokes down below in the comments and reveling in the often-overlooked cleverness of it all was beyond words. I'm bad with sentiment, but ultimately what I'm trying to say is that this site was the bee's knees when it was active. Others have been paying their respects, so I figured I'd give it a go.

As a true believer in the gospels of Falcon, however, I believe in the second coming of Falcon, when he shall pawnch away all our earthly lack of updates and show us his moves once more. Until then, we must resist the temptations of Wolf O'Donnel as he prevents us from doing that even though we'd actually rather like to. Tomorrow is Wednesday. Snap.

It has, uh, been a long time since I last posted here, I will admit. But, despite my silence, I have never ceased to visit. I know I might have never been the most vocal, nor the most eloquent, but I have come here for a long, long, long time. And to see all of… well, this… Its depressing. This place has been a home to me, its community my brothers, and sometimes sisters. It allowed me to escape a lot of the hell that went on in my own life, and I owe it a lot for that. Probably more than I will ever be able to pay. If this really is the end of Halolz, then I just want to say thank you to all. Each community member and to Shawn and Trunks, even if their negligence has been gross, so to speak.

Moreover, I will miss all of you, and the personality of this site very deeply. This was my Callahan's Place so to speak. A place without persecution, where you are where you are, just learn to live or change but most of all have fun and lighten up. And nothing can take the memories.

VGCats has updated about 3 times since this post. Let that sink in for a moment.

I love you guys, first and foremost, in the strictest of NO HOMO ways (except for that sexy beast, Alpar *call me*). I've been coming here for….*looks up account*….about 5 years now, and it's still one of my favorite sites to visit. In my Favorites bar it's still where it's always been, first seat. Whenever I go online, this is ALWAYS the first site I visit, hoping for a laugh. Even during the droughts, I've always clicked on the most recent post and scour the comments, hoping to find some new conversation. Even though I never acquired thy coveted 100 e-peen, I always tried my best to make good, funny comments. I've entered Pumpkin Carving contests. I've submitted things to be uploaded. I've always tried to do my part to help this site thrive. Now all I see is "Wait for it" slapping me in the face every time I load this site. I don't know where, or why, our great leaders, Shawn and Trunks, have abandoned us, but I still hope that they come back. I love talking to you crazy bastards.

As for the idea of an April Fail's Day resurrection, I saw we start a comment thread, and make OUR OWN APRIL FAIL'S DAY THREAD!!!! In honor of this glorious site, even if it's a day late. We can keep it going, giving our faithful a reason to come back to the site! Maybe we can do what our leaders won't! Instead of finding pictures, and sending them to be sucked into a black hole, why don't we post them here? Try to run this bitch on our own?
