I remember noticing this as a kid and thinking… why does the cover have a picture of Mario slamming into a wall and then dropping into a lava pit? Kinda depressing, but it does make for a decent box design!

Clearly, this was a deliberate attempt to, motivate, the player into avoiding the tragic events portrayed on the cover of this electronic interactive entertainment device. Without it, the player would fail to gain any motivation or incentive to strive forward through the game without subjecting the 8-bit sprite to a virtual state of "mu" and callously yonder forth like the type most commonly referenced to as "douchebag" or more technically: a "casual player"

Alright, now before any of you people give me a +1 or a -1, think about WHY you do it first. Begging some of you here, thoroughly ponder it instead of instinctively doing as you please. We don't want to turn into /b/. We don't want to be degrading into pretentious name-callers, and we don't want to pass the border of being as bad as little kids.
Oh wait, some of us already crossed that line.
Now I've been here from the near start… so close to the beginning of Halolz, you can almost say I've been here since its creation. I've watched this community grow, I've watched it crack jokes, I've seen the people exchange laughters and kind words, which is why I honestly believed we actually had a chance at surviving as a community. Or so I thought, but I just have to get out of my neutrality chair today and give a voice for those who don't desire to speak in fear of being rejected by people in the same internet site, all of which we love for its core value and intention.
Over the months, we've been overusing puns, cracking jokes that have been squeezed past dry, and being immature in ways more than one. I thought we were supposed to grow into people better than this, come on guys.
There IS such a thing as getting tired of certain jokes, especially if we see them on nearly. Every. Submission. Yes yes, it's possible to grow weary of jokes that have been spammed daily, who'dathunkit, right?
Now I'm not saying I hate you all, I'm just somewhat disappointed we sank this low. But it's not too late, we can still change, we can still redeem our community and show others the internet CAN be decent. Hell, why don't we? Now'd be a perfect time since I'm typing all of this. For what truly makes a gentleman at the end of the day in this site? Is it the fact he has over 69 E-Peen? That's but a laughworthy tradition. Nay, what truly makes us Halolzian gentlemen in the end is the fact we can ACT like one. We don't HAVE to be intellectuals, though that'd be a very warranted feature in everyone, but we only have to be reasonable. Be nice. This means no silly internet hate. I may have grown tired of the lack of wit left in the comments section, but after seeing some of the people here, I'm not giving up faith in a number of you just yet.
Now that I'm near done, I also wanna say that people who say "LOL U MAD" or "OOLOL TEH INTARNET IS SRS BSNS 2 U" (and on the topic of predictable, immature replies, I'm inb4ing the possibilty of someone saying "tl;dr". Please anything but that, had to use my cousin's crappy internet to type all this, and with Intensedebate refusing to cooperate properly, that makes it no easier.), no I'm not mad. I'm just getting a point or few across, because what seems like a simple voting system, and a bunch of guys who keep using the same jokes, can actually enhance on what their actual mindset has to offer. I simply seek to be an influence.

I completely agree with you alpar. I only said that overused joke because i was one of the first ones to comment on this submission and i was trying to think of something fast. I'm always up for a good trolling every now and then but I would never thumb down comments like Leo's just because of their opinion. They dont deserve -20 or whatever it is. News flash: we are the community. At the risk of sounding like an elitist hipster, Phoenix you, myself, Alpar, etc. were here before 95% of other users. I have nothing against new users (quite the contrary; the more people that visit Halolz, the more ad revenue Shawn gets), but we certainly have the right to complain when the community that we love so much and helped shape starts to turn into another cesspit of immaturity like the Cheezburger Network's community.
And the sudden influx of -1s on all my comments and the comments of people associated with me just goes to prove my point.
Can't say I'm worried about the -1s. My rep hasn't budged in months. Even if I cared, this wouldn't do anything. I'm just trying to understand what makes these people tick.

I leave for a weekend to find this chaos. None of it is warranted and much of it is from an unknown source.
I whole-heartedly agree with you alpar. This is a place to have fun and to crack a few jokes. I admit wit is lacking at times and I have been a victim of it as well. But I must also say an overused joke can be funny if used correctly. Basically it has to be pulled out in a didn't expect that kinda sense or be infused with a bit of quick wit. Same goes for puns. We used to thrive off them at times and now you gotta be sure you use the lowest form of comedy in a proper manner there's a reason why it's called that. Every joke has an opportunity to be funny all it takes is a little wit, proper usage, and a little bit of caution. I come to halolz everyday and find a little bit of gold, sometimes a treasure trove.
I would also like to note that it would appear that we have much more lurkers than people who comment. Unless my knowledge of intensedebate is wrong. I would like these people to know (who will probably never read this) that this site is just a bunch of people goofing off, having fun, and as said before cracking a few jokes. There is no point to go around -1ing anything you think isn't funny or not agree or as it seems in Leo's current case because you don't like them at the moment. Leo is an awesome guy as are many of the people on halolz and it hurts me to see these people frustrated with such matters. I believe a +1 should be given to anything you find deserving if you feel it doesn't deserve it oh well don't do anything a -1 should only be given if it really should be and I honestly think it should never under any circumstances. A -1 discourages can discourage these great people not because it affects their pointless e-peen but because it makes them think they're not funny or helping in anyway. Some don't care too much like leo who is confused but is filled with a bit of a curiosity to understand. -1ing someone during this kind of debate is pointless because it gives this sense of "What? Really? Are these people serious" kind of laugh. That's what I think at least. -1ing a troll just encourages a troll to do it more. See the early days of Tmo_tom.

Long time lurker here. I've been lurking here for at least 2 years now, posting occasionally, but mostly enjoying the comments. You guys have summed it up perfectly: Halolz is a place to make a few good-natured jokes and puns. The maliciousness that permeates much of the internet is largely absent here. That's why I keep coming back to the site.
I can't speak for other lurkers, but I rarely -1 people. I +1 when it's deserved or needed, and usually just end up +1ing automatically. I'd like to think that most of the other long-time lurkers do the same. But whatever the case is, I think this period of trolling will end soon enough. The community is too strong to fall to a few bored trolls. They'll move on soon enough, and the community will carry on. So keep doing what you're doing: Being awesome.

I think he might be refering to the Beast Wars cartoon, and the "TRUKK NOT MUNKY" part refers to the fact that Optimus Primal transforms into an ape in that show, contrarily to the standard truck of the usual Autobot leader. So everybody's got something to hide, except for him and his monkey.
