THE BIGGEST CITY IN THE POKEMON WORLD

Well there could be a few people in those buildings! You know, the ones with no doors…

I'm no Pokemon prof, but it seems like the main city in Black & White would be the biggest city in the Pokemon world?

  2. Vizardvalor on May 23rd, 2011 10:01 pm

I feel compelled to make a funny witty comment since I'm one of the first comments but I can't think of any soooooo, [ Insert funny pokemon joke here ]

  3. Fawful on May 23rd, 2011 10:05 pm

After a bit of research, I have found that Nimbasa City has the highest population, with a total of 239. The lowest is Cinnabar Island (After the volcanic eruption) with a total of 9.

  4. Solar Boy Django on May 23rd, 2011 10:05 pm

I think the town you build in Black can get bigger as well. The one where you connect with your friends and it gets bigger? Maybe? I could be wrong… I have white, so I'm not sure…

Is that what the fake gym is for?

They probably also account for the entire workforce of pokemon's largest company: Silph Co.

  9. Happy_Killmore on May 23rd, 2011 10:13 pm

Well, obviously, they're all staring blankly in one direction waiting for random people to walk by so they can physically assault them with trained monsters and steal their money.

  10. MonocleMan22 on May 23rd, 2011 10:14 pm

I believe there are more people in the roads than in towns… They are a hole world of hermits…

  11. VaultLegend on May 23rd, 2011 10:17 pm

Must be a great world, no hospitals or jails necessary.

  12. spplmj on May 23rd, 2011 10:19 pm

See this is why they need to build a fence on the border. Those Johto workers come cheap but they cant build doors on buildings.

  13. MonocleMan22 on May 23rd, 2011 10:20 pm

If you think about it not so much… I mean, the make wild creatures beat the crap out each one another…

  14. KirbychuHRD on May 23rd, 2011 10:22 pm

Saffron City isn't the biggest city in the Pokemon World, the biggest city prior to gen 5, or even the biggest city in Kanto. It's outranked by Celadon City, Goldenrod City, Slateport City, Lilycove City, Jubilife City, Hearthome City, Veilston City, Castelia City, and Nimbasa City.

  15. BoxeyBrown on May 23rd, 2011 10:23 pm

    Sounds good to me :D

  16. xxpikalexxx on May 23rd, 2011 10:27 pm

It's fine though. These fight somehow manage to be contained in small windows extending only to the edge of your screen.

I mean what? Pokemon is real, fear random hyper beams.

  17. christmas4477 on May 23rd, 2011 10:28 pm

Castelia City is pretty big too, but I don't think many people actually live there, they just commute. Probably from Nimbasa.

Hey, you do realise I travel a LOT? I've seen Castelia City…it is freaking HUGE.
You're not the only one out there who agrees!
(On a side note, I defeated every single trainer there. Before you did. Thanks, Dialga)
I think I might go challenge the gyms, pick up another Starter and go on another journey! I mean, I noticed a lack of Cynthia this month from Sinnoh. It seems she relocated herself to Unova. Had another battle. Crushed her. Caught a Pawniard, trained it to a Bisharp.
And somehow my Hypno was able to be tucked in…that C-Gear has strange powers. CLEARLY, my Hypno had INSOMNIA AS ITS ABILITY.

  76. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 24th, 2011 4:57 am

As I said to Hilbert, I've been to Castelia City over at Unova. I gotta say, they put the most unnecessary doors…
(Hint: Empty building. Also a hint for you guys only just arriving at Castelia City!)

  77. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 24th, 2011 5:00 am

That looks a bit like Roar of Time to me…indigo beams flew every time I wanted to cause a time paradox and defeat Giovanni before he formed Team Rocket.

  78. MoG on May 24th, 2011 5:50 am

Obviously the answer to this is simple… Team Rocket killed off a bunch of people during their reign and thus is why the population.

Also, about the doorless buildings… Where else would Team Rocket hide the bodies.

  79. Dimomarg on May 24th, 2011 6:00 am

You cannot ignore his Girth, hot teen Misty! …Or his gun.

  82. Tobikun on May 24th, 2011 7:29 am

I'll tell you what happened here. As part of the psychic training in saffron city they lock all of the children in these doorless houses with no food or water and in order to survive you must use your psychic abilities to find an escape route. Generally the children thinks this means phasing through the walls or something but that's ridiculous. They were only supposed to blow a hole in the wall with their minds. Did I mention Saffron's population has declined because not many psychics have passed this test?

  83. Tobikun on May 24th, 2011 7:33 am

Or there's the fact that the asshole guards won't let anybody through into the city because they're thirsty. Never mind the fact that you have a backpack full of drinks nope they only want one certain kind. One cup of which is magically enough to quench the thirst of 4 guards……….now where the hell are all these travelers supposed to get this wonder drink?

  84. C__F on May 24th, 2011 7:55 am

Trainers: Screwed over by the direction North.

  85. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:02 am

I believe most of those other than Celadon are larger in size than Saffron, not just population.

  86. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:03 am

Of course the population's low. It's an E rated game, only the pokemon can procreate, and only while no one's looking.

  87. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:04 am

Pokemon are sentient, they just don't give a damn.

  88. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:06 am

Someone must have made this during generation III, before Sinnoh and Unova. But even then, I'm pretty sure Lilycove and Goldenrod are larger and we know they're more populous.

  89. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:07 am

That doesn't count because Norrin wrote it. Everyone knows Katie is the awesome one.

Well all the criminals get defeated by 10 year olds.

  91. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:09 am

Black City's maximum population is 45.

  92. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:10 am

Considering Unova is based off Manhattan, it follows that Castelia, which is based directly off NYC, is larger than the cities in regions based on Japanese regions.

  93. CriticalQuit on May 24th, 2011 10:11 am

They have those on the regular internet? I've been meaning to read the manga, it seems so much better than the anime. Red isn't annoying and they change characters every generation.

  131. BTSnoogans on May 25th, 2011 1:57 pm

Really? I'm kinda thinking Pallet Town is smaller than Cinnabar Island. I'm gonna get some facts and figures off the of my head real quick. There's you, your rival, your mom, your rival's sister, Oak, Oak's assistant, and those two homeless people in the town that are always outside. That is a total of eight people. And considering that you and your rival leave town to go on a Pokemon adventure, that only leaves six people. Is there anyone nerdier than me who knows if I missed anyone?

  132. Jimmy on May 25th, 2011 2:05 pm

This time, there better be chicks man…

    Hearthome: 91

  162. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 27th, 2011 11:01 pm

Do you know the truth about them?
They were meant to be Gary Mother*4KIDS*ing Oak's cheerleaders…
and guess who introduced them to the way of the mountain?
    Me.
    TIME TRAVEL: FUCK YEAH
    …also, if you're wondering,
I've climbed every mountain (Unova's got an entire League on a mountain)
Forded every stream (Caught all the lake guardians)
Followed every rainbow (Where there is a rainbow, there is Ho-Oh)

  182. quaker171 on May 27th, 2011 11:46 pm

I'm glad you included Grammar. Good job.

  183. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 27th, 2011 11:46 pm

You're a bit underinformed yourself -- unless you're not the type to still not know the entire Castelia map, then this will happen to you.
While I was searching for certain things in Castelia, I ran into an empty building numerous times while trying to track them down -- this empty building was where you encountered Team Plasma when you first arrived there…
It's empty NOW, but it's not empty initially. So we're half right.

  184. quaker171 on May 27th, 2011 11:46 pm

    We sell those too.

  189. CriticalQuit on May 28th, 2011 8:28 am

Please, Victini's such a zero. Everyone knows Snivy's always number one.

  190. CriticalQuit on May 28th, 2011 8:30 am

Well, I stole that from the newest South Park. But I'm the kind of guy who likes pointing out major discrepancies in logic.

And Red is his own deity. Way above Arceus. He is the Mountain Lord or some shit like that XD

  191. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 28th, 2011 8:34 am

A legend that for once I am not able to capture!
Really, I've caught practically everyone now -- The Creators of course are my stars!
[IRL, I have two of the creators - I joined my current status in the Pokémon world from HGSS onwards, so I didn't get the chance to get Dialga, Palkia or Giratina in the previous games. I got my two Creators, Giratina and Dialga, via the Arceus Part 1 and 2 events (I say that because of the two Arceus needed for those two events to happen). ~Fiera]

  192. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:16 pm

OBJECTION! Only one Arceus was available for the event, as every event Arceus is a fateful encounter Arceus, and the events work with ONE fateful encounter and ONE wild, but the wild Arceus was never available, except through hacking. By this logic, I conclude that Lucas of Twinleaf is a haxor. If you have any defense at all to offer, offer it now.

  193. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:19 pm

But Kyurem freezes itself in the process! Therefore, it can only be done once.

  194. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:20 pm

None of your legendary deities even live in this dimension! You have no argument!

  196. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:23 pm

  197. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:24 pm

It's similar in the fact that they are both broken.

  198. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 1:28 pm

You have a point there, but, out of curiosity, what were you looking for?

  199. walktovanish on May 28th, 2011 2:06 pm

  200. quaker171 on May 28th, 2011 3:38 pm

It works, but the reference is lost. I don't know what homestarrunner is. Perhaps your picture is beneficial to the other Halolzers though.

  201. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 28th, 2011 10:41 pm

I have no defense to that.
However, I'm not the one that's doing the hacking. This was my friend's Hall Of Origin Arceus (actually he lended me the Michina Arceus as well) that he allowed me to activate the event with. This was shortly after we saw it on Bulbapedia.
Trust me, I'm only for hacking if only to get good TMs in Generation IV. For Gen V, we haven't done any hacking (as either my friends don't have the codes or their AR doesn't seem to be working) so far, but I don't think we need to (as long as TMs stay reusable we'll be fine…JUST RELEASE THE GODDAMN LIGHT BALL, NINTENDO).
…and wow, you really ARE trailing me (I got six emails from JUST YOU about replies to comments)

  202. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 28th, 2011 10:42 pm

WRONG! That is only in the Pokédex description!
It cannot inflict the FRZ status upon itself when using Glaciate in battle!
Plus, if it were able to do so, wouldn't it have been frozen when you encountered it in Giant Chasm?

  205. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 28th, 2011 10:54 pm

At the time I was looking for the massager lady (who was in…crap I forgot again, I think it was one of the streets or near the gate to Route 4) as I was trying to raise my traded Samurott's happiness in order to get Water Pledge -- I had gotten Serperior as my starter and Emboar from Japan in an epic GTS trade for a female Darmanitan I happened to have (with Zen Mode, even) and all of my Unova Starters were female. I was testing out the effects of each of the Pledge moves in battle and whether they would work when all were used at once -- I tested it out with these results:
You can only use one of the three combinations of Pledge move each turn (which by the way is POWERFUL when combined!) and if you try to combine them again (or try to use them separately) the moves will fail and won't work in total!
Also, I was raising happiness so I could see the appearances of the elemental Hyper Beams (still the most powerful moves of their type…except for Blast Burn, as that has been outdone by V-Create). They look freaking AWESOME.

  207. BTSnoogans on May 29th, 2011 12:25 am

It makes me wonder what kind of a society that is. You'd think the mother's name should be on the mailbox since, I'm assuming, she pays the bills and the house is most likely in her name. Are little kids the rulers of the world of Pokemon? A kid-triarchal society?

  208. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:15 pm

Kind of reminds me of the Futurama episode, "The Cryonic Woman" where they go to the year 4000, and kids rule everything. *SPOILER ALERT* Then they find out that they are in 3000 L.A.

  209. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:18 pm

  211. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:24 pm

You say you have no defense, yet you explain that you were at no fault. Your logic is faulty, and I don't "trail" you, I stalk. I'm always in PURSUIT.

  212. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:25 pm

If the Pokedex is wrong, how do you know that it can freeze anything at all?

  213. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:35 pm

I can tell that I am making you mad. Every time I reply to a comment of yours, it winds up -1'd. I know that it's you just being mad about my being right, and desperately trying to hide it. UMAD?

  214. quaker171 on May 29th, 2011 12:35 pm

X? That's a letter, not a number. Do you want to be -Q'd?

  218. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 30th, 2011 4:18 am

…man, you like using that move, don't you?
(It's a proven fact that trainers can use moves just as well as their Pokémon -- Unova has your coverage!)
Oh, and please don't make me mad -- sure, this is just the internet and all. But PLEASE. DO NOT DO IT. I've got a rather bad rep for spazzing out at inopportune times and breaking rules -- I lived a short life on a forum once due to this.
I regret to have to say this, not only because I have to think of these memories but also for having to tell you. But this is for your understanding.
Also, I have Asperger Syndrome. If you have a problem with it, I don't care (but who the hell gives a censor about it around here?) but that's practically why I take some things more seriously than others would do in the same situation. This is purely for your understanding just to be cautious of the level of tone you use against me. Applies for all of you if you happen to read it.
…hey, at least I had the COURTESY TO TALK ABOUT IT you people!

  219. Lucas of Twinleaf on May 30th, 2011 4:22 am

I wonder who? It's certainly not me.
I was going to say I like the PURSUIT but you've already said that and I just gave a full lecture to you about my problems and how to not make me mad.

  220. quaker171 on May 30th, 2011 12:20 pm

Oh, and, by the way, happiness isn't necessary for the tutor to give out the pledges. I haven't gotten a pledge in a long time, but Bulbapedia makes no mention of happiness for the tutor. I believe that we are both a bit underinformed. I don't spend a lot of time in Castelia, and haven;t played a whole lot since I found the last Sage and my Minecraft started working again.

  221. quaker171 on May 30th, 2011 12:23 pm

Every comment that I have posted as a reply has wound up with a score of 0, meaning that one person -1'd it. I believe that it is you, as I am continuously countering you at every turn.

  224. quaker171 on May 30th, 2011 12:28 pm

Ah. That confuses me, because I don't quite understand the challenge.

  225. TouyaShiro - Fiera on May 31st, 2011 2:44 am

This is my regular name that I currently use on different media. Fiera's the one I've been using since 2008 and TouyaShiro I use in DeviantART, Windows Live Messenger and now here as a reference to Pokémon Black and the Vast White Pokémon, Reshiram.
Also, it's not me who's -1ing you to 0 each time. Someone's been tracking you down somehow. I'm pretty sure they were tracking me, too -- I would have had the same treatment from you, obviously, but someone else brings it to a negative number.
