but I didn’t expect to see it used to harass Heavy Weapons Guy!

Poke-logic times. If I remember correctly, a fighting type would be super effective against a ground type. Therefore your mega punch was SUPER EFFECTIVE.
And now for a public announcement. If you are in a building that is on fire, tweet about it AFTER you leave the building.
fighting is not super effective against ground its just regular. even if it was mega punch is a normal type move.
