I was under the impression that Valve was, at the very least, entertaining the notion of inserting the Guard Dog in a future update; perhaps we may be blessed with a canine companion in our Team Fortress 2 some day. Regardless, I concur that a Wolf re-skin of the Guard Dog would be certifiably awesome.
