HALOLZWEEN 2009 - Mother Brain and Baby Metroid

And finally, our 1st place winner for 2009….. with an overwhelming 23 (out of 24 points)……
Ian Wagner and his awe-inspiring “Mother Brain & Baby Metroid” pumpkin set! Pretty amazing job, right? Well it’s certainly not surprising as he was our 1st place winner in 2008 as well! (with his impressive Samus pumpkin)

For a second year of impressing the Halolz judges, Ian will be getting another mountain of shirts (and other stuff) from Ninja-Bot!

Congratulations… and congrats to everyone for making our second annual pumpkin carving contest a big success! In fact to thank everyone who entered we will be sending out consolation prizes to everyone who entered this year! Just keep watching your email for more info!

Happy Halloween!

Oh Shawn, this reminds me, we really need a new poster, that other one is getting a bit dated.

If only that pumpkin could be laminated and preserved for future generations to stare…

Excellent job. Let's have a stack of pumpkins next year in the form of Kraid!

Still looks like a Cacodemon, but that only adds to the awesome.

Out of curiosity, what did they lose 1 point on?

  13. Shawn Handyside on November 1st, 2009 2:07 pm

Basically it just means one of the four judges voted it 2nd instead of 1st!

Thats exactly what I thought it was at first too lol. But it might be because I never really played a lot of Metroid.

You know, I tried entering last years……After seeing what won LAST year, I vowed to never enter another pumpkin here again. This year just fortified my resolve.

    So thanks for that.
    XD

Excellent job, by the way, same with last years.
(Made my Smash Symbols pumpkin look like crap)

Considering that he died once, went through MASSIVE pain during a few pseudo-mechanical reincarnations (none of which made him last much longer), was somehow brought back into a 100% biological form, died yet again, put in deep freeze, rudely awakened by a parasite, then blasted into dust for good, I agree. A psychotic alien dragon-thing who can go through death THAT many times deserves his own pumpkin.

If the carver does it wrong, however, the consequences will be, shall we say…eviscerating.

While that is true, can Ridley truly compare to the cuteness of that widdle baby Metwoid?
