So just a quick update, I never really mentioned officially that I was going… but either way, I wanted to let everyone on the site know I will NOT be at PAX next weekend.
I was all set to go with the flights and badge and everything, but I guess after last week I’ve been a little burnt out and in a weird mood and I just don’t feel like flying across the country to hang out at another gaming convention. It would’ve been cool having a Halolz meet-up and doing a “non-work” con, but in the end I decided the trip was a bit pricey and I’d rather work on stuff around here.
So yeah just wanted to let everyone know about that! Hope everyone going has a good time! And hopefully next year I can plan things out for PAX a little better!

It’s time for some convention madness again, as I get ready for Game Unicorn 2009! Wait, unicorn? No I meant Unicon! I don’t know what a unicon is exactly, but I do know that it’s a video gaming convention outside of Boston, and that’s good enough for me!
Be sure to swing by if you want to play some vidjeo games, and also check out some of the cool bands performing (including two of my personal favorites Freezepop and The Megas!) And of course I’ll be there too, with my mountain of stuff and my new t-shirt design (which I haven’t even officially announced on the site but everyone knows it exists and is up for preorder since I stuck a giant banner about it on the side of the site!)
Hope to see some of you there!

[UPDATE] Although it says the deadline has passed, I think you have at least another week to book a trip!
Wow, so I have some pretty awesome news… this month Halolz is being sponsored by Pop Japan Travel, a cool site which offers complete trips to Japan!
But even more exciting is their next trip, which not only takes you to Japan for nine days to see a ton of sights, but also gets you in to this year’s Tokyo Game Show!
And to make things even better, we’re running a special promotion for their Tokyo Game Show tour! Sign up for the TGS 2009 trip, and tell them you’re signing up through Halolz, and you’ll receive a special NINJA-BOT package featuring a t-shirt of your choice and a set of every sticker and pin we carry! Not a bad bonus, right? Of course it’s not nearly as cool as the trip itself, but I mean free stuff is free stuff!
So yeah be sure to check it out, and if you have any questions about the Halolz bonus promotion just email us!

Sorry to interrupt your regularly scheduled lolz, but I wanted to take an informal survey to see how many Halolz readers were planning to attend PAX this year. If you’re planning on going, could you post a quick comment on this post?
Thanks for your time!
[Update] Thanks for the feedback! I’ll announce more about PAX next month!

Will this marathon of convention appearances ever end? Actually yes it will! This weekend will be my last big one as I end the month with an awesome convention known as ConnectiCon.
What is ConnectiCon you ask? Why it’s Connecticut’s premiere anime-videogame-webcomic-scifi-roleplaying-popculture-geek convention! And despite its horrendous early 90’s website, it is actually a really fantastic con! It’s definitely one of my all-time favorite conventions, and in fact it was the first convention I ever attended as an artist (all the way back in 2003!)
So yeah, I highly recommend coming out for if you can make it… it’s a good’un! And I’m not just saying that because I’m going to be there (in the dealers room at booth #110), there are lots of other cool artists and celebrities to meet, and it’s just a real fun time in general!
Oh and I almost forgot there is going to be a Halolz panel on Friday afternoon featuring both me and former (lazy) assistant editor Mike! You’ll come for the slideshow, but you’ll stay for the Left4Dead protips!
So pencil it in! This weekend. Hartford. Be there!

Come see me at SDCC! No just kidding… holy crap I only WISH I was there!
However, I did want to mention that my pal Dave from SNAFU Comics IS there, and he has some Halolz shirts with him if you’re already there and have been waiting to grab a Murderkarp or Rocket Launcher t-shirt! You can find him at booth #5302, or if it’s easier you can check out this map here which should make finding him relatively easy (considering how big the convention is!)

What, another huge anime convention already?! Jeez! When do I get a break? Never apparently!
So next weekend I’ll be down in Baltimore for Otakon, which if you didn’t know is another crazy big anime convention (the biggest on the east coast)! I’ve been attending Otakon for quite a few years as an artist, but this year I’m going all out and will be up front in the dealers room! Not only that, I’m going to have a bunch of brand new things with me… including an amazing new Halolz t-shirt, two new vinyl stickers, and some shiny new business cards and fliers! Are you excited?
Well I am!
Of course I will have lots of old favorites with me as well, and hey, even if you don’t feel like buying anything… just come over and say hi! It’s been great meeting lots of people who read the site every day!
So yeah, if you’re in the area this is a con you won’t want to miss! See ya there!

Anime Expo. Biggest anime convention in the country. Happening in Los Angeles. This weekend!
Just sayin’!
Seriously though, sorry if I’ve missed a few scheduled posts in the last two weeks, but getting ready for this one (and the two others in July) has been a lot of work! We might have a brand new Halolz shirt design there (not sure if that’s going to make it in time), but we will most certainly have lots of other stuff!
Oh and the Halolz booth will be in the dealers room again this year, grouped in with the SNAFU Comics block of tables. If you’re attending the con, be sure to stop by and say hi to me, or my “Junior Executive Assistant In Charge Of Selling Stuff” (and also friend) Josh!
And remember this is a four day convention… so it’s gonna be craaaazy!
