That explains why Korra can't airbend, there is no "air" archetype in pokemon. The closest is flying and there is a difference.

Squees all around. Also, according to Golden Sun, plant spells = earth magic, so Bulbasaur could work as an Earthbender. Granted, plantbending in Avatar is a subset of waterbending, but plants also have precious minerals from the ground that might be bendable.
