Truthful on so many levels. I feel like I'm spending money that I don't even have at this point.

Edit: This post has been up for over 5 minutes now. Where is everybody?… No, truly I can't be the only one left… SHAWN, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?! I'M NOT OVERREACTING.

  2. SpaghettiWeegee on July 15th, 2013 1:40 pm

I only recently discovered the magic of Steam sales-- I know, where was I for the past 5 years even? This whole Summer Sale thing gets my seal of approval! Just picked up Psychonauts for the first time, and it's pretty rad. I feel like I'm stealing, these prices are so low!

In other news, I'm going on a new diet. My food is going all-digital now to save some cash. Rather than eating or doing things best left to the 20th century and before, I'm instead just going to look at pictures of food on the internet. It's all the fun of eating, with only a few drawbacks-- like early death!

  3. SpaghettiWeegee on July 15th, 2013 1:40 pm

    Reporting for duty.

  4. Randolph Magic Key on July 15th, 2013 1:42 pm

It's been up for 20 minutes now. And there's only 3 other comments and no ratings. Weird…

  5. Last on July 15th, 2013 2:06 pm

steam sales are a killer my wallet is already on life support

  6. Leo E. on July 15th, 2013 2:13 pm

I've only bought one thing. Scribblenauts Unlimited for $2.50.

  7. Valvatorez on July 15th, 2013 2:23 pm

Well, I only brough Scribblenauts and FTL, definitely not going to buy anything else…

    * Sees castle crashers 75% off *

    any… thing… else…

  8. Leo E. on July 15th, 2013 2:25 pm

Once again this year, the Steam community received a grim reminder. We lived in fear of the Gaben.

  9. TomQuoVadis on July 15th, 2013 2:31 pm

This is a great opportunity to get rid of that $2.09 that's been hanging around in my Steam wallet.

  10. MasterLuigi452 on July 15th, 2013 2:32 pm

    Perfection at it's finest.

And I'm surprised that Shawn didn't post this instead.

Enter generic Steam Summer Sale post here.

  12. Kris on July 15th, 2013 2:47 pm

So this is when people start posting the intro to the anime right?

  13. Prof. Luigi on July 15th, 2013 3:38 pm

  14. VyseRogueKing on July 15th, 2013 3:41 pm

Gaben is a titan? Now that's downright offensive! Not even the Colossus Titan could be that big!

We were past this weren't we? Oh well, at this point half-life 3 won't come out in my life-time so might as well scorn future generations.

  15. Pseudonym_ on July 15th, 2013 3:56 pm

EDIT: Wow, that was loooong. Rather than imbed, I shall simply provide a link.

  16. Umbreon 0 on July 15th, 2013 4:01 pm

Sadly, Shawn didn't even post this submission- Trunks did. Shawn is still MIA… I'd fear the worst, but he's been absent for longer… Perhaps he's taken some glorious tropical vacation away from the Internet to avoid the impending money-sink that is the Steam Summer Sale?

That, or he's taking a tropical vacation in Far Cry 3 land and throwing rocks at tigers. EVERYTHING IS ON SALE.

  17. Pseudonym_ on July 15th, 2013 4:03 pm

    Said no person ever.

  18. Umbreon 0 on July 15th, 2013 4:08 pm

Been almost 3 hours now. I'm not alone. But there are still under 30 ratings, and I fear that Halolz may be falling apart once more. Only the return of Shawn can save us, but I'm afraid even that may not be enough now. Shawn, wherever you are… Stay away from the sales! You're never going to play all those games! It's too late for me, SAVE YOURSELVES! SAVE Y-

*smacked in face by -75% discount*

  19. MasterLuigi452 on July 15th, 2013 4:12 pm

You're right. I didn't see who posted it in the first place. :|

  20. Umbreon 0 on July 15th, 2013 4:13 pm

It started there for me too. But then it spread. Oh God, did it spread… The worst part? My computer can't even RUN most of the games I've bought. I keep telling myself, "it's an investment for when you can finally afford to build that awesome desktop!" Only on occasion do I realize the actual redundant nature of my actions. I begin to regain my senses…

    Then there's another flash sale.

I fear I might not survive to see the end.

  21. VyseRogueKing on July 15th, 2013 4:31 pm

And here is the madness that the steam sale reeks upon the minds of the poor consumer:

  22. Earl the Lemon on July 15th, 2013 4:35 pm

Me and Sceptic Blade caught the kidnapping in the past, but now, Trunks really is becoming shawn, if people didn't even see that he posted it, then what next? WHAT NEXT?!

  23. SpectralSheep on July 15th, 2013 4:37 pm

Hoo boy, get ready for the flood of Attack on Titan parody vids…

  25. Pseudonym_ on July 15th, 2013 4:48 pm

Thanks. I haven't been on here in months and my skills have diminished.

  26. VaultLegend on July 15th, 2013 5:18 pm

We've all lost…so much. Groceries, beer, the occasional warcraft subscription. BUT NOT AGAIN! We shall overcome this catastrophe and rebuild! Nothing will stop…

Oh hey Knights of the Old Republic 2 is on sale…

  27. Combatbeaver on July 15th, 2013 6:24 pm

inb4 comments about how that's Gabe's actual size

  28. wolfpax181 on July 15th, 2013 7:25 pm

Ha! My wallet is safe from Steam!

…but that's because I'm already broke. For those of you who don't have kids, just remember that they're VERY expensive, and it's exponential growth on that as you have more.

  29. KZN02 on July 15th, 2013 7:39 pm

They are the games and we are the gamers.

  30. forgehe on July 15th, 2013 8:09 pm

He got crushed by the 75% off Portal 2 sale

  31. Ryu Bonkosi on July 15th, 2013 8:49 pm

I love how this anime has started to boom.
And I only bought one thing (so far) and that was Don't Starve. A kind of grim reminder of what will happen if I buy too many games…

  33. Trunks on July 15th, 2013 9:19 pm

Sadly the reason he hasn't been posting is because he is dead

tired from doing all the conventions we've been doing. I just got home myself from a 9-week spree starting with ACEN in Chicago.

  34. forgehe on July 15th, 2013 10:22 pm

    a Spree you say?

  35. Sonicsmash2 on July 15th, 2013 11:33 pm

    You need more training!!
Unlike everyone else I have resisted buying anything from the sales…..
Oh cool, Deus Ex for $4 bucks…..

    ARGH WHY!!!

  36. Jimmy on July 15th, 2013 11:50 pm

This just makes me want the Steam Box even more.

  37. VyseRogueKing on July 16th, 2013 12:03 am

Oh no. No more phoenix feathers for him. We gotta teach Shawn a lesson that forcing himself to (near-)death isn't good for anyone. Everyone around here dies so quickly that I can't ration the damn things well enough! UMBREON WAS KILLED BY A 75% DISCOUNT FOR CHRISSAKES!!!

  38. xxxxxxtheundeadcat on July 16th, 2013 1:14 am

I don't even have a decent PC and don't use Steam! I WIN!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. xxxxxxtheundeadcat on July 16th, 2013 1:16 am

Don't do it! That game gets old really fast!

  40. xxxxxxtheundeadcat on July 16th, 2013 1:16 am

Actually they had to shrink him down quite a bit.

  41. Hyze on July 16th, 2013 1:49 am

    It was worth the "weight"?

    I wanna believe that's a typo but maybe it's a stealth pun on Gaben's figure…

Also I apparently missed out on buying the games I actually wanted. Bleh.

  42. Paulrus-Keaton? on July 16th, 2013 1:50 am

Even after GOG, Green Man, previous Steam midweek specials, and Humble Bundle took my money….. I cannot resist a $2.50 Poker Night sequel.

But I have an ace up my sleeve…. I have a laptop and it can't even run Team Fortress and Minecraft properly, so I have no insentive to buy discounted big-budget games. Also, I already have a backlog three Humble Bundles long. Some funds shall be saved!!!! (Providing Gunpoint doesn't drop down to cheap Paulrus level.)

In fact, I have a few spare copies of games I already own, or I don't wish to play. Humble Games. I think I shall give some out as prizes to a comment section question game, if anyone is interested.

  43. Hyze on July 16th, 2013 1:50 am

    What's this anime again?…

  44. SolarPonyDjango on July 16th, 2013 1:59 am

Attack on Titan. Haven't seen it myself so can't say if it's any good or not.

  45. SolarPonyDjango on July 16th, 2013 2:02 am

Yes and no. Yes because it is. No because it's based off of a thing he said in one of the game commentaries. Can't remember which one at this moment. TF2 I believe.

I enjoy it. And the opening is really catchy.

  52. Nightmarekiba on July 16th, 2013 10:48 pm

And Half life 3/ episode 3 just got pushed back two more years.

  54. Nightmarekiba on July 16th, 2013 10:51 pm

That doesn't count because it wasn't a joke.

  59. Alpar on July 17th, 2013 10:52 am

One of the main reasons I'm not interested in buying Steam games is because my computer is terrible at running them to begin with. And really weird too.

It can handle Hamachi much better than other folk, and it's capable of running Hisoutensoku and netplay N64 as well as anyone else but the second we hit Bastion, Portal 2, or Mark of the Ninja, it crashes.

I'll add you regardless but really, don't give me a Steam game. There's a large likelihood I won't be able to play it until years later when I get a better processor and graphics card.

P.S.: Just tried adding you, won't lemme find you for some reason. Give a link instead.

we may have went bankrupt and lost our wallets but you know what?… IT WAS WORTH IT

  62. M249ftw on July 24th, 2013 6:11 pm

But I needed Rising Storm and Skyrim Legendary Edition. Where else could I turn to in terms of shooters with Bipod mechanics and mod friendly rpgs?

  63. M249ftw on July 24th, 2013 6:23 pm

Well I mainly game on the console due to the fact that my laptop isn't entirely up to speed so I should be fi…Rising Storm Deluxe Edition's only $9.29? And Skyrim Legendary Edition is $36.99? Then again I can deal with a not-so-smooth but still playable framerate.

  64. tompokenutter on August 2nd, 2013 1:03 am

Yeah, I own a Mac. Yet, I don't think I purchased more than one game that I can play with it over the sale. Furthermore, I've gotten a lot of mileage out of Skyrim, and basically none out of New Vegas, Oblivion, Braid, System Shock 2, Age of Wonders 2, or Civ 5. I'm just glad that I managed to stop myself before my food budget was impacted too badly.

Truly, thou art a cruel, yet generous man, Gaben.
