I don't think his idea will pan out too well. All of the adventurers taking arrows in the knee just end up becoming guards. They're still fighters, but now without the motivation to travel.

Could be worse, I'm in central Ontario and have barely any snow this year.
I'm Way up in South Lake Tahoe CA, located the Rocky Mountains ridge bordering NA and CA, And we usually get a good 3 to 4 feet of snow at this time of year.
