it's about damned time those super heroes faced a law suit for all the shit they break!
As much as I find Mr. Wright hialrious in UMvC3, it looks like they put minimal effort to giving him moves.
OK, the evidence projectile is ok. But sneezing? Well, I've seen weirder in a fighting game. Though just fiddling at invisible objects at the ground counts as a combo? Even the paper tossing was better. And since when can he shoot LASERS?! Why suddenly give him a power he shouldn't have?
All in all, I'm having mixed opinions on his appearance. It's pretty good, but some things should have been different. =/
They aren't lasers. He's taking a picture in his phone, which as Scarlett Johansson can attest to, can be very damaging.
This 3D-adaption of Phoenix doesn't actually look well done. I also don't digg the voice acting… Sorry.

You would have had this as DLC if it weren't for the rerouting of the DLC plans to a single disc due to the Tohoku Earthquake. But be sure, 12 characters for $40 plus balance changes and new modes is much better than 1 character priced at $5 multiplied by 12, that becomes $60 for all characters. You wouldn't be able to get this as DLC solely because of the Tohoku Earthquake in Japan.

To be fair, she shows up on her own. He's shocked to see her every time she shows up. You'd think he'd catch on.
I wouldn't have ended up spending $60 for all of the characters if they had been DLC. I'd have been spending $10 on two characters, because I don't care about the other ten. And balance changes can be handled with a free patch.
I'll state it just to make sure you know, but the only real reason UMvC3 even exists is BECAUSE of that earthquake in Japan -- if that didn't happen, you probably would have been able to do what you said you would do.
I guess you have a point, but I will say that some people are clamouring for a Story Mode -- the closest we have to that is Heroes & Heralds, just recently announced as a new, free post-launch download on Ultimate. Again, would have been new stuff in vanilla.
Plus, who's the other character you have your eyes on?
I personally have my eyes on Vergil.

They totally missed a way to capitalize on an obscure in-joke.
You know how you can call in your other two fighters for assists?
This would have taken considerable time to implement, but have one of Phoenix's moves be Mia possessing an enemy fighter for an assist.
Breasts and all.
To make that happen, they'd have to create duplicates of all of the character models and then add the breasts, then UV map those new models to the old textures. If i were one of the character modelers and I received that assignment, I would probably kill everyone in the office and then wear my boss's skull as a hand puppet.
I effing hate UV mapping.

While I'll admit that they're definitely in it for the money, they have managed to make a pretty good fighting game in the process.

nope, phoenix has a super power, he's a human lie detector, plus it seems objection is a physical object, and he can fire lasers from his hands AND has infinite amounts of paper sharp enough to hurt dr doom, he's more powerful than superman
with more ranged attacks than most characters, I have a bad feeling he'll mostly be used by the ranged spammers (they've already taken over ssf43d)
hopefully you don't have to fight him in online modes, that'd be ridiculous

Don't get me wrong, DMC 3 is my favorite Devil May Cry game, but not because of Vergil. I'm not a huge fan of Nero, either, but if I had to choose between the two of them I'd pick Nero because I like characters with ranged grapple attacks. And as far as MVC3 goes, Spencer and Spidey are all I really need in that department to be happy.
i wouldn't say good, if you've played competitive fighting games as long as i have, you'd see that lately they've been dumbing down their games.
Gotta say, they picked a very good voice actor to give Phoenix a voice.
Well, extraterritorial rights WERE actually a plot point in Ace Attorney Investigations.
I can understand that, though I haven't seen gameplay of any Nero battles in DMC4 so I can't tell for myself. Plus, Nero's VA is already taken anyway (he's voicing Zero's English Dub in Mahvel/Ultimate Mahvel 3 and has voiced Yang's English Dub in Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition as well).
I personally just find Vergil to be a badass because of his katana, Yamato. His style of play is based on his playable appearance in DMC3 Special Edition, in case you don't know (there's where he gets some of Dante's abilities because Force Edge grants him the same powers as Dante's Rebellion does, hence some moves being shared), the three weapons being Yamato, Force Edge and Beowulf.
As for Hawkeye, I reckon he's going to be a great character -- he's got a Level 1 Hyper Combo which could possibly be one of the best in the game as it can punish anything with one shot (it's omnidirectional).
I feel your pain, the game online loses its fun when ppl pick guile with auto-block and sets 1 round with a 30 sec timer while always back up from me. It has got so bad that i changed my name to "noAUTOBLOC."
or when you map attacks to the touchscreen in the 3ds version, guile can walk forward and flash kick, it gets real bad real fast, and little kids online can now use supers and ultras easily and nearly instantly

Between Dead or Alive: Dimensions and Super Street Fighter IV on the 3DS, I would choose the girls with the boobs EVERY TIME. Not that I don't like Street Fighter's franchise mind you, but the gyroscoping is irresistible.
I never really gotten into DOA, but when you price is like $20 I probably check it out for non-fap purposes mmmhhh…
Yeah, it has been simplified for new players, but I hardly bother with bitching over controls and balance. I say "Fuck that" and rip the shit out of the tiers by being good with a character I actually like. Besides, I have fun playing it, so I don't really care anyways.
skills will get you far, but unbalanced characters (coughcoughdarkpheonixwolverinecoughcough) take the skill factor out. dumbed down controls wouldn't be the biggest part if it weren't for the fact that one combo works for almost every character.
