Yes, It is Hephaestus. Anyone with half a brain could've told you that. Or someone who has played Bioshock 1 or 2… And everyone with half a brain could tell you that God of War sucks… All it is is repetitive gameplay until you reach a bossfight that's the easiest thing in the world. At least Viva Piñata had a challenge and a little bit of replay value…
You don't need to play the games, all you need is a semester if Greek Mythology and! Voila!

Well considering how Hapheaestus in Greek Mythology is Aphrodite's husband, I'm going to guess that's why Kratos lied to him about it. If he's just another god, why care? Gods sleep around all the damn time.
