Though I have no problem with people giving their well-earned legal tender for our Japanese friends in need, there is a little voice at the back of my head, always whispering these little disruptive thoughts. And every time someone mentions the Japanese earthquake-relief fundraisers, that I give a few bills here and there for our Nihonese brethren, it says:
"What about Haiti? It's still a hellhole over there, and yet you just avert your eyes from it, because you already gave a few bucks for their troubles, and now there's a new just cause to support! But what will happen when another one arrives, and Japan is forgotten? Or will it never be forgotten, because it is "close" to you, because Haiti didn't release Pokémon Black, Haiti didn't make Bleach and Naruto, Haiti has always been a bad place to live?"
Not only would I feel like an asshole for not helping, but now I feel like one for helping, too. FREAKING CONSCIENCE!

Shit I missed this. I've been up to my ears in school work. ):
You know, Haiti relief raised FAR more money than Japan did. A lot of people think "Oh, Japan's a rich country, they don't need aid." So yeah.
A compilation of relief efforts for Japan and how you can get involved.
People forget that it still helps speed up the rebuilding process and all that, even though they're a first world country.
