well, If you look at his the blueprints on the background, it's a robot arm. my guess is that it's an expendable prosthetic arm which will act as a secondary weapon, allowing him to grab metal from far away.

well i can only assume the hammer is a new weapon (faster building less damage?) and the torch is also possible (smack a spy he lights on fire?) as for what he’s building? probably some kind of secondary sentry judging by the show of sentries in the beginning and the fact that there IS a type of medal for the engie’s pda. (right now it’s only for watches though)
