You encounter them hundreds of times as different types of murlocs while leveling up, and their distinctive cry sounds like someone gargling when they attack you. They also typically attack you in twos and threes as well, making them hard to kill. Though there is a clan of murlocs in Borean Tundra that you can actually become friendly will.
