When I first saw screens of Sonic’s “Werehog” form, I thought it was a joke. I still have hope that Sega will say “just kdding”.
His name is matt gunderman
Can he strech any part of his anatomy ;3
This reminds me of the Sonic the Hedgehog fighting game. Did anyone else think that was remotely cool?
I though Sonic The Fighters was awesome.
This, however, does not appear to be.
What’s amazing is SEGA was *that* close to making a perfect Sonic game.
Fantastic four
Before Sonic was thought up of, Sega considered making their mascot a rabbit whose main ability and offense was to stretch out his arms. That idea was scrapped, but the concept of a character with that ability was eventually used…Ristar.
Funny but, whutz dis? In what game is this in? Sonic’s next below average failure of a game :/? How is it that 2 mario games come out on every nintendo console, they all turn out to be good wheras 3 or more sonic games come out on every console, and turn out to be so terrible :/ 4 stars, it was good, but didn’t make me laugh
*After clicking link *DOH**
WEREHOG? Wow, sega are really desperate.
…FUCK!
Let me be a nerd here, which isn’t difficult for me. Sonic can’t be a were-hog. Were means “man”, so “were-wolf” means wolf man. Most people seem to think that “were” implies shape changing, but it doesn’t. The only way sonic could be a were-creature is if he turned halfway into a human.
And that’s my lesson in entomology, I hope someone learned something today.
Thank You, Dan.
@Dan:
After reading that, and considering that he’d have to be a “hog man”, the only thing I can imagine now manbearpig.
And I agree with the thoughts of Sega having _almost_ managed to finally figure out what made sonic fun.
I’m…I’m flabbergasted when Sega say things like that.
C-c-c-c-ombo breaka.
@Draco Advigilat
My (and Al Gore’s) thoughts exactly!
weird, but some say that this game might be good
soo… sonic is a hedgehog wolf man thing now… so which one of those creatures has the ability of mr. fantastic? maybe in segas fantasy world, wolves can stretch just like hedgehogs have amazing speed
Bad.
So… is a hedgehog either a hedge or a hog?
Which is longer,
his name or his arms?
Meh, I don’t mind the Werehog gimmick in the next game. It might actually be fun to play as Sonic the Werehog. That’s also only half the game, the other half you’re still running around zones at top speed. I’m personally gonna wait for the game to come out and play it before passing judgment. :P
Basically, Sega realized that the game looked entirely too promising, so they had a brainstorm, and came up with werehog. Nice one. I’m sure that’ll be standard in all your games from now on. You know what? Take a page from Capcom, and make another Genesis game. I’d buy it.
i can has call him hogwolf??
Werehog, more like mr.fantastic subsitute
@TheDJ17
I can’t see it clearly, but it looks like my ruler says “longwerehegehog” is very slightly longer than his arm.
In Sega’s defense about the Mr. Fantastic thing, there are only so many super powers and there are a lot of super heroes that have the same powers. I’d wager that there hasn’t been a new super power in your or my lifetime. So no matter what power you give Sonic, there’s a superhero that has it. Super speed? The flash. Turns into a hog? Beast Boy / Changeling. Stretchy limbs? Mr. Fantastic. Super weaving powers? Superman. No seriously, Superman has super weaving powers.

lol. BOOM HEADSHOT.
@Dan, he basically made up whatever powers as needed. Like his super ventriloquism or super hypnotism (which explains why no one recognizes his with glasses)
Superman is the Eric Cartmen of super heroes. His power is to have lots and lots of powers. But my point was that there are no new super powers. First off, Super Man has like 75% of all powers ever, and of what’s left there are enough super heroes that one can safely assume that it’s been done before.
I look forward to making fun of DC vs Mortal Kombat, by the way.
ok, completely forget what you know about this game, or any other sonic game for that matter… imagine this was the first sonic game to released…
now read that wikipedia article under story and feel the burning hate towards this game…
Has anyone but me noticed he’s like RISTAR?!
@him
The Gameplay looks like it as well
